Locality Social Cloud

12 steps to your sovereign social cyberspace

1

DynDNS Setup

  • Use Services like noip
  • Or use fritz.box capability
  • Or get a DynDNS from another Provider

Allows your local network to be reachable at a domain!

2

Start your Locality Social Cloud Server

3

The Locality Social Cloud Server starts their own Wireless Access Point.

4

Connect to the Access Point.

You will be redirected to the setup page of Locality Social Cloud.

5

Choose the applications you want to host on your domain in the web.

Out of the box:

  • Messaging-Website
  • Social Event Calendar
  • Story Creation

YOU CAN WRITE YOUR OWN APPS based on the Locality Social Cloud; It is easily extensible and offers access to a growing ecosystem of social apps.

6

Choose the Apps you want to enable.

Out of the box:

  • StoryMessenger

Allows you to message your friends and share stories with them. Available for Android, iOS, Linux Phone, macOS, Windows and Linux.
In sync with the Messaging Web Application.

7

Create Invitations and invite your friends.

  • QR-Codes or token strings.
  • They can now register and login on your domain or in the apps. The apps can be set to target your domain instead of the standard domain (localitysocial.cloud)
8

Enjoy!

Congratulations!

You now have a sovereign social cyberspace.

💬
9

Distribute

  • Multiple Locality Social Cloud Servers on different IP’s can be connected together into a single system
  • Each added server increases the upload, throughput and resiliency of the network
  • Each node must go down for the total network to go down.
🔗
10

Survive

Locality Social Cloud Servers can be run in local mode hosting their own access point; Each node has 20m of Wireless reach.

Multiple Cloud Servers can be connected together or to a wireless station to increase the reach.

📶
11

Freedom

Congratulations!

You now have a sovereign social cyberspace level 2.
You can rebuild and rescale civilization.

Roadmap Ahead

Execution Roadmap

Target: fulfill steps 1-12 and sell it as a server.

What We Already Have

Foundation

Locality Social Cloud including Demos: The heart of the system.

What Is Still Missing — Demo Apps

Estimated Dev Time: 50 – 80 Hours
  • Messaging Website
  • Social Event Calendar
  • Story Creation

Distribute

Estimated Dev Time: 50 – 100 Hours

Working together with the Elixir community on a new distributed database.

Without this database, it can still be distributed as a distributed system, but throughput will not scale per node.

(6) StoryMessenger

Estimated Effort: 20 – 100 Hours

Design and a fully functional legacy app already exist. We still need to refactor them onto the Social Cloud and add a messaging backend for Firebase Cloud Messaging so that notifications can be received on mobile devices while the app is offline.

Additionally, we will reuse our legacy code for connecting by drawing characters.

(12) Properties

Pending Requirement

What is still missing is a security audit.

Before these steps are finished, we install each Social Cloud Server by hand and give you help and consultation for setup.
